Telehealth clinic manager Jean Holthaus, LISW, was invited by WZZM Channel 13 to lend expertise on how parents can cope with the stress and anxiety of making back-to-school decisions for their children in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The interview also featured insights from Andrew Boekestein, LPC, of network180.
Tips offered by Holthaus and Boekestein include:
- Take good care of your body through exercise, healthy eating and plenty of sleep.
- Maintain a routine for all members of the family that includes regular bedtime.
- Don’t allow yourself to get caught up in worry.
- Seek help from a trusted person or professional source if you are feeling overwhelmed.
“Remind yourself that you’ve gotten this far successfully,” says Holthaus, “You’ll make the best decision you know to make. It will be okay.”
