Addiction Fundamentals for Family and Friends
This 10-week class is designed to support individuals that have a loved one struggling with a substance use disorder. Participants will receive education on addiction, co-dependency, trust, enabling and communication. Attendees will gain an understanding of addiction, as well as learning ways to cope, set appropriate boundaries, and assertiveness skills.
Topics covered will include:
• Addiction: The Disease Concept
• Family Roles
• Healthy Boundaries (Enabling and Loving Detachment)
• Trust and Understanding Steps 1-3
• Guilt and Shame
• Healthy Relationships/ Communication
• Mental Health Symptoms and Addiction
Participants are required to attend from the first or second class of each 10-week session. New registrations will close after the second class.
$5 per session.
