Our Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows

Matthew Koster, DO

Undergraduate: Brigham Young University.

Graduate School: Rockhurst University, MBA in Healthcare.

Medical School: Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

Why I chose Pine Rest: I had never been to Grand Rapids prior to my interview day. However, I was very impressed with the way the program treated their residents and the focus on exceptional psychiatric care with an exposure to such a wide variety of services within the Pine Rest system. The residents in the program seemed happy and I have appreciated the program’s emphasis on creating a positive environment to learn and grow as psychiatrists.

Other Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family, being outside and exploring nature, and eating ice cream!

Chad Percifield, DO

Undergraduate: Franklin College, B.A. in Biology.

Other Interests: Cycling, board games, video games, soccer.

Professional or Clinical Interests: Child & Adolescent and Addiction Psychiatry.

Hannah Williams, MD

Why I chose Pine Rest: I felt so supported here during my clinical rotations and everyone was very invested in my success. We have wonderful care teams in the hospital which are great to learn from and very welcoming to all trainees, and I wanted to continue to build the relationships that I had prior to residency.

Other interests: I enjoy yoga, hiking and being outdoors as much as possible (during the summer).

Professional or Clinical Interests: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with interest in coordinated care models and mental health care in primary care settings.

Why I chose Pine Rest: I found it appealing to train in a hospital system where psychiatry and mental health are the primary clinical focus, as opposed to the clinical environment of many programs, where they are not.

Other Interests: Hiking/exploring the fresh coast of Lake Michigan, playing sports, attending musical performances (of which, there are many in Grand Rapids).

Professional or Clinical Interests: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Lifestyle Medicine.
