By partnering with the biotechnology community, industry and academia-based research programs, Pine Rest demonstrates its dedication to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
The Pine Rest MSU College of Human Medicine faculty members have been published in several high impact scientific journals on depression, bipolar disorder, bioethics, epidemiology, inflammation, smoking cessation, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and platelet function, and have worked on projects involving novel antidepressants including agomelatine and sirukumab. Faculty members also serve as reviewers for numerous peer-reviewed journals, and are members of NIH study sections and review committees.LEARN MORE
At Pine Rest, we believe an environment of learning improves care and outcomes for the community. Our goal is to continuously expand educational programming at every level—from psychology internships through the psychiatry residency and fellowships.
- In July 2014, we welcomed our first year of psychiatry residents and by 2017 the program will have 32 residents.
- In July 2017, the new Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship will commence.
- The growing number of outstanding continuing education experiences like the VanEerden Lecture Series, Grand Rounds and Perinatal Mood Disorders Conference allow our staff and professionals in the community to constantly learn and grow.
- Our Clinician Pastoral Education program has been equipping faith leaders in their important work for over 45 years.
