Pine Rest Grand Rounds is a behavioral health medical education tool being used to deliver high quality training to physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, licensed professional counselors, psychologists and social workers. The presentations will present practitioners with state of the art, best practice or evidence based tools to improve the delivery of behavioral treatment within our communities.

Evidence-Based Approaches to Treating Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa

This presentation provides an evidence-based overview of treatment approaches for anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN). Dr. Daniel Gih, Professor and Vice Chair of Education in the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Psychiatry, will underscore the importance of early intervention, careful medical monitoring, disposition, and the incorporation of psychotherapy and nutrition. The limited role of pharmacologic treatments will also be discussed
