Upcoming Sessions
LARA Required Course
Ethics and Pain | Caring for Self While Caring for Others
8:00 am - 3:30 pm
In this training, participants will gain an increased understanding of the biology of stress, vicarious trauma and moral injury. Individual skills in decreasing stress and advancing well-being will be reviewed. Further, opportunities to respond to challenges and promote wellbeing at the supervisory and organizational level will be explored.
Pine Rest Grand Rounds
Virtual Grand Rounds – School Violence Risk Assessment
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Dr. VanOrman and Dr. Post will partner to provide an overview of school violence risk assessment approaches along with strengths and limitations related to predicting future acts of violence. We will connect this to clinical practice in differentiating clinical judgement of risk which is commonly done in outpatient and inpatient practice and a more formal structured professional judgement that provides the best analysis of risk and assessment of risk and protective factors that allow for targeted intervention and safety practices. In the end we hope participants will understand the differences, know when and how to refer for enhanced evaluation services, and also look to bolster protective factors to improve safety community-wide
