What care levels are provided at Retreat Residential?

Retreat Residential is a voluntary residential program in Grand Rapids, Michigan providing two levels of care:

  • Medically-monitored subacute detox

We are subacute level of care and are not attached to a medical hospital. Patients must be independent with walking, bathing and feeding themselves. If your medical issues are or become too severe, we may have to transfer you to a medical hospital for a higher level of care.

What services are provided at Retreat Residential?

  • In detox, you will receive medically monitored assistance in successfully withdrawing from addictive substances safely and as comfortably as possible.
  • In short-term residential, you will receive 24-hour monitoring by our nursing staff.
  • You will meet regularly with physicians and case managers who will work with you to develop an after-care plan and navigate other aspects of your care, such as assisting with FMLA or short-term disability paperwork.
  • Recovery coaches and therapists will lead various group therapy, classes, and activities. Attendance is required, as these help you learn how to identify triggers, develop coping skills, and more.
  • Outings in the community are also an aspect of the residential programming as you learn and practice recovery skills.
