Pine Rest President and CEO Dr. Mark Eastburg has been recognized by Crain’s Grand Rapids Business as one of West Michigan’s Top 200 Most Influential Leaders for the third consecutive year (‘Notable Leaders in Healthcare’ category). This honor recognizes individuals whose vision and leadership are shaping the region’s growth across multiple industries.
Since joining Pine Rest in 1991, Dr. Eastburg has devoted his career to strengthening Michigan’s behavioral healthcare landscape and expanding access to quality care through innovations such as the area’s first Psychiatric Urgent Care Center, Pine Rest/MSU Psychiatry Residency & Fellowship programs, Telehealth expansion, launch of EPIC’s ‘Care Everywhere’ referral option, and most recently, our merger with the Behavioral Resources And Institute for Neuropsychological Services (BRAINS).
Currently, Dr. Eastburg is working with Pine Rest leadership to guide one of our most transformative initiatives yet — the creation of the Pine Rest Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health, Michigan’s first dedicated children’s behavioral health hospital. This state-of-the-art facility will house comprehensive psychiatric services uniquely designed for children and teens statewide, including:
- Pediatric Psychiatric Urgent Care
- Inpatient accommodations
- Dedicated Neurodevelopmental Disorders Unit
- Specialty outpatient programs for autism, eating disorders and substance use disorder
- Telepsychiatry to reach kids in rural areas
- … and much more.
The Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health is scheduled to open in March 2026.
