RN Mallory Cook Receives Honorable Mention DAISY® Award for Extraordinary Nurses

April 19, 2022

Congratulations to Mallory Cook, BSN, RN, who recently received an honorable mention for the International Institute for Healthcare Improvement and DAISY Foundation’s 2022 DAISY Award® honoring extraordinary nurses in patient safety.

Mallory is the lead RN for TMS at Pine Rest’s Neuromodulation Clinic which offers ECT and TMS treatments for patients with major depressive disorder. She is being recognized for “continuously demonstrating how caring and kindness contribute to the safe and compassionate care of persons with psychiatric mental health conditions.”

“Mal’s commitment to caring and safety are exemplary, and we are grateful she is part of our team at Pine Rest,” says Pine Rest Chief Nurse Executive Gretchen Johnson, DNP, MSN, RN-BC. “She has a way of making patients and staff feel seen, heard and valued. That takes true skill and caring.”

Typically, out of thousands of nurses nominated annually, only one winner is chosen. However, this year’s committee was so moved by Mallory’s nomination that they decided to award her as well.

When asked about the most rewarding part of her job, Mallory says, “Seeing patients get better! Seeing our clinic grow over the years has been very exciting. Last year alone (2021), we administered 2,246 treatments!
