Trainees from Pine Rest’s Psychiatry Residency & Fellowship Programs attended the Graduate Medical Education Advocacy Day sponsored by the Michigan Health and Hospital Association at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing on May 5.

This was a great opportunity for physician residents/fellows throughout Michigan to connect with legislators to discuss the importance of GME and other legislative issues impacting the trainees in Michigan. Our residents/fellows were able to meet with Rep. Steve Johnson, Sen. Aric Nesbitt, Rep. John Roth, and Sen. Winnie Brinks.

In partnership with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Pine Rest currently trains over 50 residents and fellows through five ACGME-accredited programs

Thank you to Dr. Kellen Stilwell, Dr. Christopher Gideon, Dr. Whitney Cummings, and Dr. Joshua Hales for representing Pine Rest GME at this important event!
