On Wednesday, November 17, Pine Rest team members gathered to celebrate the Freedom House program’s grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Freedom House Residential Treatment Program is located on the Cutlerville campus and serves those with either severe mental illness or dual diagnoses of a mild developmental disability along with another mental health diagnosis.

The program is founded upon the D.R.I.V.E for Life principles, which include: (Self) Discipline, Respect, Integrity, Vision and Excellence. The goal is to help residents gain successful living and vocational skills to achieve greater independence in life.

Freedom House will provide its patients with weekly individual and group therapy with a master’s prepared clinician, along with psychiatric, nursing and behavioral supports. These intensive services address the underlying mental health needs and educational gaps so that individuals in this program may transition successfully to greater independence.
