Congratulations to Dr. Louis Nykamp, who has been appointed as the new President of Medical Staff at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services.
Dr. Nykamp will will serve a valuable role representing the medical staff as the chair of the medical executive committee, representative of the Board Quality and Safety Committee, and representative at Pine Rest board meetings.
Dr. Nykamp began his career at Pine Rest in 2006 as a board certified general adult and geriatric psychiatrist. He has worked in almost all areas of the organization and served in numerous leadership roles, most notably as Psychiatry Residency Program Associate Medical Director and Medical Director for outpatient services. He is currently serving as the Medical Director of Pine Rest Neuromodulation, Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Director, and Chief Medical Information Officer.
Over the years, Dr. Nykamp has established himself as a passionate champion for exceptional patient care and employee wellness. He is known for his welcoming presence, intelligence, and sense of humor, and he has demonstrated great leadership by developing numerous programs including the Epic electronic health record implementation. He is a brilliant visionary whose experience and dedication to the Pine Rest mission will help push our organization forward as we strive to provide access to quality behavioral health care services throughout Michigan.
