We are pleased to announce that Mallory Cook, BSN, RN, is the recent recipient of the DAISY award honoring nurses who demonstrate exceptional care and compassion.
Mallory is a nurse with our Neuromodulation Clinic, where her “kindness and empathy” helps ease the process of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment for patients experiencing severe depression.
“Mal consistently reached out to help me when I was struggling at one of the most difficult times of my life,” says a former TMS patient.
“Mal made me feel that I had worth and had something to offer in this life.”
The RN Excellence Council began participating in the DAISY Award program in 2014. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem and was started by Tena Barnes, whose husband Patrick passed away from Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura. She wanted an award that could be given to honor the extraordinary care and compassion that nurses give their patients.
The DAISY Award is recognized and given in over 1,700 U.S. healthcare facilities across all 50 states and 11 other countries.
