We are pleased to recognize Madyson “Mady” Babbitt, RN, as the latest recipient of the DAISY Award, for going above and beyond in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
To her coworkers, Mady is “human sunshine” in every way—a steady, uplifting presence who brings warmth and calm to the Cypress unit. She’s known for jumping in to support patients and staff alike, often finding time to go the extra mile for patients by providing music, sensory room breaks or outside time to help create a healing environment.
Patients echo that same sense of comfort and connection. “Mady makes me feel like a human being that belongs,” shared a recent patient. Others describe her as gentle, funny and endlessly kind—someone they can talk to, trust, and rely on even in their toughest moments.
“Mady is always so gentle with her words, and she’s always funny and does anything to make other people smile.”
Whether she’s offering a quiet word of encouragement or a laugh at just the right time, Mady exemplifies the spirit of the DAISY Award every day. Congratulations, Mady—and thank you for being you.
The DAISY award is presented in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). To learn more and/or nominate an extraordinary Pine Rest nurse, visit our DAISY Nomination page.
