March 12 – 18, 2023 is Patient Safety Awareness Week. During this week, which is celebrated annually, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement seeks to advance important discussions, both locally and globally, and to inspire action to improve the safety of the healthcare system – for both patients and staff. It is also the perfect opportunity for Pine Rest and other healthcare organizations to focus on safety through education, recognition and awareness.
In the healthcare industry, the adage, “Safety is everyone’s responsibility, everywhere, every time” is a phrase that’s said often – because it’s true. This week is a great reminder of our shared commitment to safety and a time to recognize that, as engaged members of our Pine Rest team, we each have a hand in creating a culture and environment where our patients and staff feel safe.
Creating a culture of safety takes all of us working together toward the common goal of providing safe, high quality patient care. It makes an incredible difference in their lives, our community and beyond.
