“Caring, Devoted” Psych Tech Facundo Santome Presented Hummingbird Award

December 2, 2021

Congratulations to Facundo Santome, our 2021 Q4 Hummingbird Award winner in recognition of outstanding Psych/Nurse Techs throughout Hospital and Residential Services!

Facundo is a psychiatric technician with the Pine Rest Sequoia Residential Program. He received the Hummingbird award after multiple nominations from those he has served over the past several months.

On November 17, co-workers and members of HRS leadership team surprised Facundo to present him with the his award and hold a small celebration in his honor.

Says one of the residents who nominated Facundo:

“I have never seen a more caring or devoted psych tech in any other home I’ve been in. He takes the time to listen, validate, help in any way possible.”

Another resident says:

“He is there for us and easy to talk to. I feel like I can talk to him about anything.”

The Hummingbird Award was created by the Hospital and Residential Services’ Patient Experience Workgroup and Psych Tech Council in 2020. The award is presented to one winner each quarter to recognize Psych and Nurse Techs for the demonstrated empathetic, compassionate and competent care they give to patients/residents and all whom we serve. They bring professionalism and a positive attitude to their work and demonstrate Pine Rest’s guiding behaviors of integrity, excellence, stewardship, diversity and empowerment in their work.

Congratulations, Facundo!
