We are pleased to recognize Wairimu Kinyanjui, RN, as the recipient of the June 2026 DAISY Award for Nursing Excellence!

Wairimu, a nurse in our Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), is known for her compassion, positivity and calming presence as she helps those we serve feel supported and valued throughout their treatment journey.

Patients consistently share how Wairimu’s kindness and attentive care make a meaningful difference. Whether guiding someone through a moment of crisis, sharing wellness skills during her nutrition class, or just taking the time to listen, Wairimu creates an environment where people feel cared for and at ease.

Wairimu also leads by example as a valued member of our nursing team, readily supporting her colleagues and stepping in wherever needed. Her commitment to compassionate care and her ability to make people feel seen, heard, and supported have left a lasting impact on both patients and staff.

Congratulations, Wairimu, and thank you for the meaningful difference you make every day for our care teams and those we serve!

The DAISY Award is presented in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). To learn more and/or nominate an extraordinary Pine Rest nurse, visit our DAISY Nomination page.
