The Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) has unveiled its 2024 Community Impact Report, spotlighting 15 hospital-led programs that improve healthcare access, support the workforce, and promote community wellness across Michigan. The investments, totaling over $4.5 billion, range from education and prevention services to community outreach, research and workforce development.

One project highlighted in the report is the Pine Rest Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health, which is scheduled to open in 2026. The pediatric center, which is currently under construction, will be located on the Pine Rest campus at 300 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, and will addresses a critical statewide need by providing customized care for children and adolescents who are struggling with behavioral health issues. Specialized treatment programs for Autism, Eating Disorders, ADHD, Substance Use Disorder, plus a Pediatric Psychiatric Urgent Care Center, are just a few of the services that will be offered.

The report quotes Pine Rest President & CEO Dr. Mark Eastburg, who underscored the goal of helping children live purposeful and joyful lives:

“Mental health problems and the chronic shortage of services … have been robbing our kids of joy. The Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health will help our community and state become a place where none of our kids will have to wait weeks or months for world class mental health care.”

The full report is available on the MHA website.
