The Loeks Residency Center currently has immediate availability for new patient evaluations conducted by our expertly trained psychiatry residents under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist.
The Ruth and Jack Loeks Residency Center is a state-of-the-art teaching and learning space for the Pine Rest psychiatry residents. Working closely with faculty, second year psychiatry residents provide psychiatric assessments, treatment and medication management. The center serves adults, adolescents and children as young as 5, and addresses a variety of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, ADHD, substance use, trauma, intellectual disabilities, developmental concerns, and difficult life stressors.
Whether patients are looking to start new psychiatric medications or seeking a new physician to manage their current prescriptions, our psychiatry residents are equipped to provide comprehensive care so that people can get the help they need without having to wait. Residents will engage in thorough discussions about the benefits and drawbacks of various treatment options, ensuring that patients are able to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
During a comprehensive one-on-one consultation with a psychiatry resident physician, patients will discuss their mental and physical health, including any substance use, helping the resident physician develop a personalized treatment plan that is safe and effective. A fully licensed on-site supervising psychiatrist will monitor the assessment via video to provide guidance. Follow-up appointments with the patient typically occur every 1-3 months, ensuring continuous and attentive care.
Low wait times. Our psychiatry residents are able to accept new adult patients age 18+ with minimal wait times.
Extended Appointment Times. Residents are able to spend more time with each patient, allowing for thorough discussion and understanding of their concerns.
Collaborative Care. Patients will benefit from the combined expertise of both the resident physician and the supervising psychiatrist, particularly for complex cases and treatment decisions.
Follow-up Care. Patients can be seen for follow-up visits at much closer intervals compared to traditional psychiatric clinics.
The Loeks Residency Center shares the same entrance as the Campus Clinic on the Pine Rest campus located at 300 68th Street SE in Grand Rapids. Both clinics share patient registration space as well.
