Faene R. Frith, MA, LPC

I am a fully licensed counselor working at Pine Rest Northwest Clinic who has received my Master of Counseling degree from Spring Arbor University and have experience working with all ages. After graduating I have had the privilege of working with people who struggle with anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, stress issues, adjustment disorders, parenting difficulties, school difficulties, developmental issues, social difficulties and other behavior problems. I have a special interest and experience in trauma- focused therapy for sexual abuse and neglect and has been involved in the past with the national consortium for trauma-focused therapy. I am an experienced play therapist who has worked with behavior and attachment issues as well as adoption, grief and loss

I participate with Faith Community Outreach, an initiative within Pine Rest that seeks to connect area clergy, churches, and ministries to services available from Pine Rest; as well as develop new services specifically designed to benefit the faith community. My philosophy on counseling is to strive to be Christ-like in acceptance without condemnation as well as using that faith based approach when appropriate to the client to address the struggles of the heart. I try to recognize that sometimes in the struggles that come to us, there is need to have someone walk through these with you and with guidance, to grow toward God in those struggles. I work with the client to help find meaning and direction and with God’s help, to work through the struggles of the heart.
