The Mindfulness Therapy Group for LGBT Persons welcomes adults (18+) from all gender and sexual identities and expressions. The program offers a safe and inclusive space for members to learn how to cope with life’s difficulties. It can be helpful for folks of similar backgrounds to join together to learn new ways to overcome existing emotional, interpersonal and psychological struggles.
- Coping with difficult emotional experiences associated with anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, bipolar disorders and gender dysphoria
- Assertive, effective and safe interpersonal communication with family, loved ones, co-workers, etc.
- Use of mindfulness and relaxation skills to help manage mental health symptoms and to alleviate feelings of bodily dysphoria
- Safe and effective ways to manage trauma symptoms
We understand that joining a group can be intimidating, so we welcome you to contact us for an orientation session with the group facilitator. If you already receive services from Pine Rest, let your provider know you are interested in this group and they can contact the group facilitator to get you enrolled.
