This lecture will serve to provide a description of using ketamine in treatment-resistant depression. Key studies will be reviewed, including efficacy, serial infusions and dosing.  Additionally, future directions of ketamine and esketamine in clinical practice will be discussed.

Presenter

Jennifer L. Vande Voort, MD

Dr. Vande Voort is the Medical Co-Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology Ketamine Infusion Service at Mayo Clinic.  She is also the Consultant and Co-Chair of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology, Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic.  Dr. Vande Voort is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.  A graduate of Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Dr. Vande Voort completed her Residency and Fellowships at Mayo and the National Institute of Health, National Institute of Mental Health Clinical Research in Bethesda, Maryland.
