Classes & Therapy Groups

Rooted in Resilience Therapy Group – Pregnancy & Postpartum Support

Nearly 1 out of every 5 women experience some form of Perinatal Mood or Anxiety Disorder (PMAD), during pregnancy or after having a baby.

Our virtual group is open to any woman currently pregnant through one year postpartum. Facilitated by a licensed therapist, participants can expect to learn communication strategies, notice and challenge anxious thoughts, examine attachment strategies and set proper boundaries with themselves and others. We will focus on self-care and relearning your identity with the added role of ‘parent’.

By joining our weekly Pregnancy & Postpartum psychotherapy group, you will receive guidance and instructions from a licensed expert in PMAD treatments, can talk with others who understand what you are going through in a safe, non-judgmental space, as well as find the caring and encouraging support you need.

Topics covered over the 8-week sessions include:

Week 1: Self-Care; Self care assessment; Breathing Exercises; DEAR MAN

Week 2: Sleep & Nutrition; Sleep Protocol; Safe Sleep MDHHS

Week 3: Attachment & Bonding; Check the Facts

Week 4: Identity; Role Identification; Strengths Activity

Week 5: Healthy Relationships; Active Listening; Barriers

Week 6: Boundary Setting & Communication; Boundary Practice examples

Week 7: Scary Thoughts & Mom Guilt

Week 8: Support Persons; Partner/Support person PMAD; Maintaining the relationships; How to support yourself, how to support them
