“Pearls for Partners” continues its 2023 spring season with a valuable presentation from our medical experts about “Understanding Self-Harm”.

While adolescents and young adults have the highest rate of self-harming behavior, an increase in self-injury is being seen among the older adult population.  Join Pine Rest’s Dr. Kellen Stilwell, Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Fellow, and Dr. Weston Anderson, an Adult and Forensic Psychiatrist who serves on Pine Rest’s Older Adult Unit, as they provide an in-depth look at self-harm in both adolescents and older adults, and how the behaviors and risks contrast between the two groups.

Participants will gain a better understanding of underlying causes and who is most prone to self-injury, signs and symptoms to look for, and the most effective treatment interventions.
