Pine Rest and Corewell Health presents “Lessons in Care Integration” along with an interactive panel discussion with Pine Rest, Corewell Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and Priority Health.


Presentation Objectives:
  1. Name the five components in the ‘quintuple aim’ that collaborative care is striving to impact
  2. Identify 2 barriers or challenges in fee for service models of care
  3. Identify 2 ways that integrated care can reduce overall healthcare costs and improve outcomes



Amy VanDenToorn, LMSW

Amy VanDenToorn, LMSW, is a Regional Director for Outpatient and Recovery Services at Pine Rest. Amy helped develop and currently oversees Pine Rest’s successful Advance Practice Clinician psychiatric fellowship program. In addition, she has worked with payers and physician groups to develop value-based and population health models that highlight the importance of investing in behavioral health services. Finally, Amy oversees the primary care integration program at Pine Rest and is working with community partners to expand Behavioral Health Integration.  She received her Bachelor of Social Work from Hope College and her Master of Social Work from University of Michigan.


Kristine Wilmoth, MSCP, LLP

Kristine Wilmoth, MSCP, is a Limited Licensed Psychologist and the Clinic Manager for the Pine Rest Traverse City Clinic. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wayne State University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Madonna University.

Kristine’s history includes private practice that involved individual and family treatment and psychological assessment of adults and children for ADHD, learning disabilities, memory difficulties, and for diagnostic clarification. She has experience evaluating and treating incarcerated individuals through the Michigan Department of Corrections, assessing and coordinating hospital placement in emergency departments and jails, as well as managing and developing programs in public mental health systems.  Kristine has also been a small business owner since 2006.  She brings an informed perspective of public and private mental health systems, including development of clinical programs, establishing and auditing quality metrics, improving staff retention and engagement, and overall business management.

Kristine has a passion for helping people through trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and is certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. She also specializes in mood disorders such as Depression and Bipolar Disorder.

Healthcare teams and psychiatrists each share a piece of the puzzle in treating mental health disorders. The demand for mental health treatment continues to grow, yet many healthcare teams find treating mental health to be challenging and complicated.

The Virtual Pearls for Partners educational series covers topics to better equip healthcare community partner teams to identify and treat patients with mental health disorders. This series is intended for all healthcare professionals.
