This Pearls for Partners presentation serves to provide training on how to recognize and treat eating disorders. We will review warning signs, treatment modalities, levels of care and information on Pine Rest’s Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Partial Hospitalization Program.
Presentation Objectives:
- Identify 3 presenting characteristics of a patient with an eating disorder.
- Learn at least 2 new techniques or treatment modalities effective in treating eating disorders.
- Recognize at least one factor for referring to a higher level of care
Presenter:
Rebecca Busman, MA, LLP is the Associate Clinical Director and Grand Rapids North Regional Director for Outpatient and Recovery Services within Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hope College and her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. Rebecca has been working in the mental health field since 2007.
Rebecca has researched and practiced treatment in the areas of eating disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, life adjustments, psychotic disorders, trauma and self-harm/cutting. She has additional training in IPT, EFT and DBT. Rebecca is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals and the Academy of Eating Disorders.
