“Pearls for Partners” begins its 2023 spring season with a valuable presentation from our medical experts about “Demystifying Detoxification”.
More than 20 million Americans suffer from Substance Use Disorder, and those trying to overcome this disease may require medical intervention to ensure their physical and mental safety as they experience withdrawal. This presentation will provide an overview of the symptoms and potential complications associated with substance use withdrawal including alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines and marijuana, as well as common medications used for treatment that minimizes these risks. Pine Rest’s Lisa Zwerk, a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse and Clinical Services Manager for Sub-Acute Detoxification, and Substance Use Director Mariah DeYoung will share their SUD clinical expertise and review treatment options.
