Presenter:
Dr. Kelsey Woolner is a pediatric neuropsychology fellow at Pine Rest’s Psychological Consultation Center. Dr. Woolner completed her doctoral education at Rosemead School of Psychology in La Mirada, CA and her pre-doctoral internship at Pine Rest. Her clinical experience includes neuropsychological assessment of children and adolescents with genetic conditions, prenatal alcohol exposure, seizure disorders, cerebrovascular conditions, premature birth, and other neurodevelopmental concerns. She has also provided therapeutic interventions across a number of settings including intensive outpatient, community mental health, inpatient, residential, and outpatient. Upon completion of her fellowship in September, she will continue her work at the Psychological Consultation Center as a pediatric neuropsychologist.
Presentation Overview:
Dr. Woolner will provide an overview of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders and their clinical presentations. She will compare various diagnostic guidelines, discuss the barriers in making accurate diagnoses, and review current literature regarding the neurological impacts of prenatal alcohol exposure.”
Presentation Objectives:
- Participants will identify two (2) diagnoses which fall under the umbrella of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
- Participants will become familiar with at least two (2) diagnostic guidelines and their criteria for FASDs.
- Participants will gain understanding of the clinical presentations of individuals with prenatal alcohol exposure.
