Addictive Behaviors Group

Many people struggle with behavioral addictions, like gambling, shopping, gaming, unhealthy eating etc. Those in recovery from drugs and alcohol often find themselves more vulnerable to these types of addictions, especially when they are newly sober. To address the growing need for services in this area, the Pine Rest Retreat Clinic has launched their first therapy group specific to behavioral addictions.

The Addictive Behaviors Group is led by a licensed therapist who is also a person in recovery from both substance use and behavioral addictions. The group meets online weekly and offers education on topics related to addiction as well as the opportunity to explore personal concerns with a group of others in a similar situation. We’ve had great success using this format to provide education and support for those with alcohol and drug addictions and are excited to expand this service to include other types of addictive behaviors.

New group members can join at any time.

Group therapy is a covered service for most insurance providers. Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify.

Registration: If interested, current Pine Rest patients should talk to their case manager or therapist to get referred to this group.

However, if you are new to Pine Rest, a one-time evaluation to assess the appropriateness of group therapy will be arranged to discuss a treatment plan. Please call us at 866.852.4001.
