This presentation provides an evidence-based overview of treatment approaches for anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN). Dr. Daniel Gih, Professor and Vice Chair of Education in the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Psychiatry, will underscore the importance of early intervention, careful medical monitoring, disposition, and the incorporation of psychotherapy and nutrition. The limited role of pharmacologic treatments will also be discussed

Dr. Rebecca Knickmeyer is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development at Michigan State University and Associate Director of the MSU Institute for Quantitative Health Sciences and Engineering. Participants in this Grand Rounds will be able to explain major developmental changes in neuroimaging phenotypes across infancy and early childhood, including structural, microstructural, and functional brain measures, and much more.

In this Grand Rounds, Dr. Barbara Thompson will describe how her laboratory utilizes translational research approaches to investigate social and emotional neurodevelopment in young children. She will present how we explore functional disruptions in behavior and our attempts to elucidate the underlying neural changes responsible for these disruptions.
