A New Group At The Pine Rest Holland Clinic Offers Life Coping Skills

The Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services Holland Clinic is starting a new group called Practice Matters! It is a 12-week group experience with a new module starting every four weeks. The group is a mix of education and support. It begins April 8, and is held on Tuesdays from 4:30 – 6 p.m.

“We’re never done growing in life no matter what our age. Learning, practicing and applying life coping tools and having accountability and support in doing so is the focus of the Practice Matters! group,” says Holland Clinic clinician and facilitator Jude Vereyken, LMSW, CAADC.

“Attendees will set goals for their own personal experience, review and/or learn a multitude of life coping tools and practice, practice, practice using them throughout the group experience. They can expect to complete homework, share with others their experience and progress, and come away with an expanded tool box,” says Vereyken.

Practice Matters! is intended to be a supplement to individual therapy treatment. Participants can be referred thru their therapist associated with Pine Rest. If not in treatment currently at a Pine Rest facility, participants are required to meet for an evaluation session with the group facilitator or another Pine Rest therapist before starting the group. An individual can attend therapy sessions with another clinician in the community and still participate in this group.

Practice Matters! is a group for adults age 18 and up. Participants are encouraged to attend all 12 sessions. All major insurance providers cover group therapy and co-pays/benefits will vary. Self-pay is $50 per session.
