Area Walgreens stores are holding a Diaper Drive, as well as other baby care items, for Pine Rest’s Mother and Baby Program during the week of May 4.
The Pine Rest program is a new short-term, intensive, day treatment program for women experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety. One of only three programs like it in the country, mothers are able to bring their babies with them to treatment to improve mother and baby bonding, breastfeeding and eliminate daycare issues.
The Diaper/Baby Items Drive will help Pine Rest stock the nursery and to share baby care items with moms in need. Walgreens has special offers the week of May 4 to encourage extra purchases for donations. Collection boxes are near the store entrances.
Several of the Walgreens in the West and Northern Michigan regions are participating – Traverse City, Holland, Allendale, Cutlerville and Wyoming. Cutlerville store manager Stu Bellant is organizing the drive.
When you go to Walgreens the week of May 4, take a minute to Make a Mother’s Day and buy some diapers or other baby care items. You can learn more online at: www.pinerest.org/Walgreens.
