Pine Rest President and CEO Mark Eastburg is pleased to announce John Lichtenberg and Gary Werkman as new board members at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Service. The board executive committee is Hon. Joseph Scoville, chairperson; Lori Holstege, MD, vice chairperson; Ross Hoezee, MD, treasurer; and Nick Kroeze, secretary.
John Lichtenberg is an attorney with Rhoades McKee where he serves on the management committee and chairs the health care practice section. Since 2007, he has also served on the Pine Rest Foundation board of governors where he is currently vice-chair of the board and chair of the governance committee. Other service works includes chair of the evaluation board of the Alliance for Health, past board chair of Network180 and the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan. He and his wife Susan live in East Grand Rapids and have two grown daughters.
Gary Werkman has over 24 years of experience as a financial advisor and works with Robert W. Baird & Co., Inc. He is also a certified financial planner practitioner. He is past board member and president of the Pine Rest Foundation, and is past board member of the Trinity Christian College board of trustees, his alma mater. He is also active with Leader Renewal Institute in Holland. He and his wife Dawn live in Jenison and have four children.

Patricia Gardner, Wes Granberg-Michaelson, Vicki Harris, James Hopewell, Stephanie Leonardos, Victoria Proctor-Gibbs, Charlie Selmon, Joe Sweeney, Jon Swets and Ginny VanderHart. Community members completing their board of directors’ term are: Laird Hamstra, MD, and LeMark Payne.
