Beginning January 13, Pine Rest will display a collection of photographs called, “Tuesdays With Todd & Brad Reed: A Michigan Tribute.” The exhibit will be in the Postma Center Leep Art Gallery at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services.
Todd and Brad Reed are a father-son outdoor photography team based in Ludington, Mich. They have a simple approach to photography, choosing subjects that touch them in emotional ways and strive to convey these emotions through their images.
With over 35 years in the photography business, Todd is considered one of the leading photographers in the United States and his son Brad has also become a national leader. The duo has released multiple books and DVDs showcasing their photography, which has been shown in many magazines and by The North American Nature Photography Association.
Their exhibit is a father and son offering; they set out weekly for a year seeking, discovering and revealing Michigan’s natural heart and soul with their cameras. The project is a culmination of the duo shooting from sunrise to sunset every Tuesday in 2012. Besides shooting still photographs, Todd and Brad also shot HD video and produced a 7-10 minute video of their photographic journey every week.
Todd and Brad both believe their images have a spiritual quality and believe they are privileged to be God’s witnesses to beautiful sights and natural phenomena. They hope you enjoy their photographs and that God’s magnificent powers come through to help bring peace and serenity to you and your loved ones.
The exhibit at the Pine Rest Postma Center, 300 68th Street, SE, Grand Rapids, will run January 13 to April 1, 2014. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and additional times are available by appointment. Admission is free of charge. For more information, please call 616/222-4530.
