Alicia McAndrews, LPC

Alicia works with children, adolescents and adults and strives to encourage others that they are not alone in their challenges and don't have to carry their burden on their own. She strives to empower clients to gain greater confidence and self-esteem, stronger relationships, emotional balance and health. Alicia has been working in mental health services since 2008. She received her Master’s degree in counseling from Cornerstone University and has had many opportunities since then to develop herself professionally in a variety of settings. She has worked in an in-patient, residential setting, community based counseling, and in outpatient. However, Alicia's greatest passion is working with individuals, groups or families to establish a relationship working together to promote change.

David Langerak, Limited Licensed Psychologist

Dave considers it a privilege to work collaboratively with children and adolescents as they navigate the difficult journey of growing up. His approach with his clients is to accept them where they are, and he considers himself more of a coach than counselor working in collaboration to reach their goals. Dave has training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Illness and Recovery Management Therapy, Relationship Based Care, Co-occurring disorders and Applied Behavioral Analysis. He has been a life-long resident of Kent County working as a therapist providing individual, family and group therapy for over 25 years. Dave completed his undergraduate degree at Calvin College, earned his Master degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University, and a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology. He also has Master’s degree in Management from Aquinas focusing on Organizational Management. Dave’s experience includes working with children, adolescents and young adults in outpatient clinics, partial hospital programs and inpatient hospitalizations. He has been a college professor, Sunday School teacher, and disaster relief volunteer. He also presents on various topics of parenting, childhood mood disorders and anxiety, ADHD/ADD, Integrating special need populations into work, church and school environments, self-injurious behaviors and suicidality. Dave loves reading mystery novels, watching action movies, kayaking, camping, fishing, hunting, and working outside. He has a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and continues to compete at the state and national level. His specialties include serving child and adolescent clients with:

Kristy Weersing, LPC

Kristy Weersing is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreational Therapy and a Masters of Arts in Counseling, both from Central Michigan University. Kristy has worked in Mental Health with Pine Rest since 1999. The first 12 years of her career was spent working with adolescents in a residential treatment program. Since 2011, Kristy has worked in the inpatient setting, during this time she worked with populations from young children to older adults covering a broad spectrum of needs and diagnosis. She also completed a counseling internship in the Residential Substance Abuse program. As a clinician, Kristy strives to provide a safe welcoming environment to support safety and growth. Treatment specialty areas include working with adolescents and adults with sensory impairments, trauma, mood disorders and substance abuse, focusing on CBT, Skill building and Strength based approaches.
