“For me, the best part about being a therapist is the daily reminder that we are all unique and all the same. Paradoxical? Yes, but I think comforting as well. I believe that everyone wants to be heard, understood and accepted; to have a witness. That’s my job.”
Tim’s approach can best be characterized as a balance between acceptance and change, with the assumption that ‘We are all doing the best we can, and we can all do better.’ His therapeutic style is warm, respectful and lighthearted. Tim brings a deep commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care.
Tim is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has provided DBT/DBT informed therapy for most of his career. He specializes in treating a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, personality disorders and ADHD. He also works with individuals recovering from loss, grief and emotional abuse.
Tim has a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy and has practiced as a Limited Licensed Psychologist in Michigan since 1992.
