Silas is a Limited Licensed Clinical Master Social Worker who has earned both his Bachelor’s degree of Social Work from Grand Valley State University and his Master’s degree in Social Work at Michigan State University. Having experience working with adolescents and adults, Silas is determined to always grow in understanding and knowledge.
Through undergraduate and graduate studies, Silas gained experience working with adults and adolescents who experience depression, anxiety, abuse, trauma, spiritual/religious issues, suicidal ideation, grief, loss, and anger. He utilizes CBT, Mindfulness, DBT skills, motivational interviewing, reflective listening, with a client serving demeanor. His approach is an empathetic, reflective style which often creates an inviting, comfortable atmosphere where individuals can feel heard, seen and understood.
Silas is determined to establish a safe environment in which clients can use to explore, express and discover the depth of themselves, and the truth and beauty of who they are. His warm and inviting demeanor allows for his clients to feel welcomed, respected and safe. Silas brings an encouraging attitude to each session and can be a source of empowerment to help clients reach their goals through collaborative work.
