Sharon Lacy, LLMSW
Sharon is a limited license clinical social worker at the Pine Rest Campus Clinic. She completed her undergraduate degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University and her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University. Sharon’s clinical background includes work with children, adults and families in individual, family and group therapy. Her treatment areas include attention-deficit hyperactivity/disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mood dysregulation, substance abuse, and family relationships. Prior to joining Pine Rest, Sharon spent ten years working in youth development in Grand Rapids Public Schools serving in an administrative role within a youth mentoring program.
Sharon believes that individuals and families possess the ability to increase their overall well-being and to find relief from suffering through therapeutic processing, emotional education and experiential learning. One of Sharon’s primary interest areas is the connection between mind and body, and she incorporates mindfulness practices and physical movement into sessions when appropriate through stretching, breathing, walking and play. Sharon has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Client Centered Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and utilizes strategies of play therapy.
