Shanna Colpetzer is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She earned her Master’s of Art in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in 2006 in Boca Raton, Florida and her Master’s of Science in Psychology with a focus in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2009 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She held a clinical license in Florida for many years before moving to Michigan and is currently fully licensed in the state of Michigan.
Shanna has post Master’s training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Individual Resiliency Training (IRT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her approach to psychotherapy is person-centered and focuses on individual strengths and skill building. Shanna has worked for many years as a clinician for those dealing with severe and persistent challenges, as well as those new to mental health and looking to understand themselves through an introspective lens.
Shanna enjoys working with a range of ages (15+), genders, cultures and ethnicities. Her areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety, psychosis, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and ADHD. She believes that a therapeutic relationship built on openness, authenticity, and mutual respect can lead to great success in achieving one’s goals.
