Ryan provides safe, empathic and nonjudgmental space for clients to express themselves freely. He aims to create an environment of safety, trust, support and hope for all of his clients. In sessions, Ryan places great emphasis on collaboration with clients to develop goals that are personally meaningful and fulfilling.
Ryan integrates elements of various therapeutic models to create a holistic approach to treatment. He draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), child-centered play therapy, mindfulness, and adventure therapy. His treatment approach aims to help his clients reframe maladaptive thought patterns, strengthen relationships, and enhance emotional wellbeing.
Ryan is a Limited License Clinical Social Worker and outpatient therapist at the Pine Rest Southwest Clinic. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Michigan. Ryan’s previous experience includes family trauma therapy, court-based rehabilitative therapy, children in the foster care system, and community advocacy for children in the justice system.
