Faith Statement

Blessed with a strong Christian legacy from parents and grandparents, I also attended a Christian college (Taylor University); integration of faith was central to all I knew. Yet, attending state/secular university for graduate school challenged my conservative understanding and expanded my awareness and compassion for those with differing life experiences. Hearing personal stories and struggles softened my early experience of legalism and strengthened my appreciation of grace.

God has provided countless opportunities for service and leadership, which I endeavor to do from a Christ-centered, Biblical world-view. Value for every life (regardless of skills, diagnoses, or life experience) and encouraging everyone to rise to the highest level of potential God has for them is central to my work. Everyone is sacred and special. I believe that understanding each person’s unique abilities (strengths and skill-deficits), making accurate diagnoses, and providing personalized resources/recommendations is a way I honor and support everyone I work with.

Everyone has potential for growth. I am truly blessed that my career enables me to come alongside in the journey.

Clinician Bio

“Growing up in a family of educators, physicians and nurses, I learned a great deal about the brain-body connection and how fragile humans are. With three generations of developmental disabilities, our family legacy is one of supporting everyone—of all abilities—to learn and be as healthy as possible. These early experiences shaped my deep commitment to helping others navigate life’s challenges with understanding and compassion.”

After initially pursuing a career as a special education teacher, the field of neuropsychology captured Rochelle’s heart. Helping individuals and families understand diagnoses, offering clear strategies for improvement, and providing tailored interventions is the core of her practice. Rochelle believes that understanding and addressing the unique needs of each person is key to fostering meaningful change.

After earning her PhD, Rochelle moved to Grand Rapids and has proudly served this community since 1994. In 2007, she co-founded BRAINS, an adventure she never anticipated but one that has was incredibly rewarding. In 2025, she successfully lead the merger of BRAINS with Pine Rest, where she continues to focus her attention on her clinical work.

Rochelle participates with Faith Community Outreach, an initiative within Pine Rest that seeks to connect area clergy, churches and ministries to services available from Pine Rest; as well as develop new services specifically designed to benefit the faith community.

Rochelle Manor participates in the Diversity Collective.
