Bob has been practicing in the field of mental health since 1988. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate their mental health and addiction challenges. He is dedicated to creating a supportive and relaxed therapeutic environment where individuals feel comfortable and secure. Bob’s approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, and he believes in the power of humor to foster a sense of connection and ease. He strives to maintain a non-judgmental space where everyone feels accepted and valued, regardless of their struggles or background.
Bob is open about his own recovery experiences, sharing his journey to inspire hope and resilience. By being transparent, Bob aims to break down barriers and build trust, showing that recovery is not only possible but achievable, and that together, we work toward healing and growth, guided by compassion, honesty and mutual respect.
Bob utilizes a diverse range of evidence-based therapeutic tools including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and 12-Step Facilitation, where individuals are guided through the principles of the 12-step program. By integrating these modalities, Bob strives to provide comprehensive and individualized care that empowers clients to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Bob received a bachelor degree in both Psychology and Sociology and a Master’s in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. In addition to his Licensed Master of Social work (LMSW), Bob is also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).
