Rafael Caldas

Hi, Ola! My name is Rafael Caldas and I am a clinician at the Pine Rest Campus Clinic for Outpatient Services since March 2003.I work primarily w/mental health services and I am credentialed to work w/substance use disorders as well.

In all these years I have been feeling the call to work in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and, after the pandemic including all the tragic events related to racism and intolerance of last year, I feel this urge more imperative than ever.

The increase in mental health challenges, since last year and for years to come, have also become even more cumbersome and impactful. These are the main reasons I believe I can help you address emotional/mental/behavioral concerns more thoroughly.

I am originally from Brazil in South America, I have been living in Grand Rapids for 30 years and I can speak, read, write and converse in a cultural manner comfortably in Portuguese(native language) English, Spanish, French and Italian.

I have extensive experience working w/diverse/multicultural/multiethnic populations in general and also in substance use disorders and school settings so I believe I could be a great fit for you.
