Rachel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who sees clients aged 15-70 at the Pine Rest Portage Clinic. She earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology at Saint Joseph’s College and her Master of Social Work at Western Michigan University.
Rachel specializes in survivor work, including but not limited to intimate partner (domestic) violence, human trafficking, teen dating violence, sexual assault, and abuse. Additionally, she specializes in trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Rachel combines approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. She is also trained in a short-term, evidence-based therapy called Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
Rachel believes that each person’s unique experiences and characteristics contribute to how they show up in the world. Through building safety within a therapeutic relationship, Rachel believes that one can acquire greater insight and self-discovery that can contribute to their improved ability to care for their needs, increase social connection, and overall satisfaction in life.
