Rachel is passionate about helping people using a collaborative, therapeutic approach, and working alongside her clients as they achieve their goals. Clients can expect a welcoming, accepting safe space to express their thoughts and feelings.
Rachel utilizes an integrative approach that uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy and solution focused techniques. Clients can expect to learn effective coping skills, enhance problem solving, make behavioral changes and improve interpersonal skills, as well as prioritize self acceptance and practice self care.
Rachel is a fully licensed practicing counselor (LPC) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug counselor (CAADC). She received her undergraduate degree in psychology through Grand Valley State University, and her master’s degree in counseling through University of Phoenix West Michigan. She has been working in behavioral health since 2008 and treats substance addictions, mental health disorders, and perinatal mood disorders (PMAD). Rachel has experience working in residential and outpatient treatment settings, including working with returning citizens impacted by the criminal justice system.
