As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW), Rachael believes that everyone is worthy of a safe, unbiased and productive opportunity to process their experiences. Through a collaborative, non-judgmental and strengths-based approach, Rachael strives to meet clients where they are emotionally in order to assist in developing and implementing healthy ways to cope with the stressors of life.
Rachael has vast experience in child welfare as well as with community-based substance use and co-occurring disorders programming working alongside children, adolescents, adults, and their families to address issues of complex trauma, substance use disorders, overall mental health and well-being, relationship conflicts, life stressors, difficult transitions, grief, foster care/adoption, anxiety, depression, and more.
Rachael received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in social work from Western Michigan University. She enjoys working with a range of ages (14-100), genders, cultures and ethnicities. Rachael uses a variety of evidenced-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapy. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
