Pilar’s clinical foundation and framework is built on trauma-informed principles and approaches that guide her therapeutic practice. Pilar believes in a modern, holistic approach to therapy, promoting an authentic and vulnerable relationship between therapist and client. She prefers an empowered approach to therapy, where clients are encouraged to show up as their whole selves in a safe, welcoming environment. Pilar works with all adults age 18+, and especially enjoys working with women.
During therapy, Pilar works with you to better understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviors through a supportive and compassionate approach. She aims to connect with you in a way that promotes self-reflection, affirmation and empowerment by discovering and embracing strengths that you didn’t know you had. She will help you root out the patterns that are keeping you stuck, while celebrating with you when life is good.
Pilar earned her BSW at Kuyper College, and her MSW at Dominican University. Since 2013, Pilar has practiced as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in a variety of settings including inpatient hospitals, anti-violence programs, and nonprofit management. In her free time, Pilar enjoys spending time with her family – preferably near the lake with a fiction novel in hand.
