“This field ‘picked me,’ and I’m glad it did. It has blessed me—becoming acquainted with such strong humans willing to confront their difficulties. I have learned so much along the way. Every person I work with teaches me something new about resilience, growth and the power of self-reflection. Being a therapist has given me a deep appreciation for the complexities of the human experience, and I feel privileged to walk alongside my clients in their journeys.”

Dr. White strives to create a safe, friendly and welcoming environment for her patients. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process, where both therapist and patient work together toward meaningful progress. She views her role as being in the co-pilot seat—helping guide the conversation, offering insights and providing support, while ultimately allowing her patients to steer their own path toward healing and personal growth.

Dr. White utilizes a range of treatment techniques tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. Common modalities she incorporates into her practice include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and interpersonal approaches. By integrating these evidence-based techniques, she helps clients reframe negative thinking patterns, explore their personal stories, and improve their connections with others.

Dr. White is a licensed psychologist who has been with Pine Rest since 1994. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Miami University in 1981 and completed her Doctoral degree (PhD) in Clinical Psychology at Kent State University in 1987. Her internship at Ohio State University blended behavioral medicine and clinical psychology training, providing her with a well-rounded foundation in therapeutic practice. She later completed a post-doctoral fellowship at an interdisciplinary rehabilitation facility specializing in pain and stress management. Prior to moving to Michigan, Dr. White served as the assistant Branch Director at Columbus’ Children’s Hospital Guidance Center – NW. She is an LGBT+ friendly therapist, committed to providing an inclusive and affirming space for all clients.
