Nicole Gilbertson, PsyD

Dr. Gilbertson earned her doctorate of Clinical Psychology from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. She completed her residency training with the Chicago Area Christian Training Consortium. She has previous experience working with all age ranges with varying mental health needs, but has a specific passion for working with children and adolescents as well as their families. She is also very passionate about working with women in various stages of life, conquering the unique challenges that face women today.

Her clinical specialties include behavior disorders in children, autism spectrum disorders, eating disorders, grief issues in childhood, and treatment for childhood abuse; women’s issues from adjustments to family life and motherhood, new or changing careers, and issues related to experiencing feelings of anxiety and depression.

Dr. Gilbertson has a specific interest in acknowledging one’s spiritual beliefs in the context of their lives and specifically in the midst of their pain. She is comfortable addressing concerns related to one’s spiritual development, doubts related to faith, and using one’s spiritual and religious beliefs as a source of comfort.

She uses empirically validated treatment approaches with clinical creativity to tailor interventions to engage individuals in a meaningful way. Her desire is to work with individuals to identify specific goals for treatment; empowering people through psychoeducation and support; and to implement effective interventions which will empower individuals to reach their full potential.
