“My passion is helping individuals connect with their authentic selves wherever they are – in the midst of pain, uncertainty and/or jubilation. I believe in the healing power of genuine connection, and I aim to create space for both vulnerability and resilience. Together we will honor the hard moments, celebrate the joyful ones, and navigate the feelings and hesitations that naturally arise in life.”
Dr. Nicholas is dedicated to creating a warm, safe and collaborative space where individuals feel encouraged to explore, grow, and discover new ways of relating to themselves and others. She deeply values getting to know each person’s authentic reactions and helping to gently distinguish those from the reactions shaped by what they think they “should” feel or that they expect from themselves.
Dr. Nicholas approaches therapy through a person-centered lens, believing that the therapeutic relationship itself creates the foundation for meaningful change. Much of the work of therapy involves gently navigating the natural ambivalence that can arise—ambivalence about being in therapy, about one’s identity, and about the process of change. She draws from several therapeutic approaches, including ACT, CBT, psychodynamic, emotion-focused, and solution-focused therapies. She uses a combination of tools that support building a meaningful life, understanding emotional patterns, exploring past experiences, and highlighting existing strengths.
Dr. Nicholas is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Michigan (since 2023) and was previously licensed in the commonwealth of Virginia (2019-2025). She earned both her master’s degree and Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Regent University, and she completed her pre-doctoral internship at Pine Rest. Over the years she has had the privilege of offering therapy and assessment in a range of settings, including private practices, university counseling centers, residential programs, and psychiatric inpatient facilities.
